Kat Findlay, cellist and founder of String FX, serves as both Music Director and Administrator. She earned her BA in Commercial Music and launched String FX in 2017 during her senior year. Dedicated to building a sustainable, high-quality performance group, Kat ensures a meaningful experience for both clients and musicians. Outside of String FX, she tours with the soft rock band, Air Supply, and performs at pop culture conventions and Renaissance faires as CelloKat.

Crista is a versatile violinist and dynamic musical force. With a BA and Master's degree in violin performance from BYU-Idaho and Arizona State University, Crista has built a multifaceted career as a performer, arranger, educator, recording artist, and music ambassador. 

Crista has shared the stage with world-renowned artists such as Lindsey Stirling, Cydni Lauper, and Josh Groban, blending her classical training with a passion for pop, rock and classical crossover. Her captivating performances, often choreographed to enhance the music's emotional impact, leave audiences inspired and moved. Whether collaborating with others or shining as a soloist, Crista consistently delivers unforgettable musical experiences. 

Allie began playing violin at age eleven and later earned a scholarship to the Horne School of Music at Snow College. Under the guidance of Sara Gunnell and Jack Ashton, she became Concertmaster by her junior year. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis in Commercial Music and Violin Performance.

Allie has performed with artists including Jon Batiste, Olivia Rodrigo, Lindsey Stirling, and many others. She is a founding member of String FX, playing with the group since 2017. In addition to her classical foundation, Allie enjoys playing pop, rock, and jazz, further broadening her musical versatility and technical proficiency. She remains dedicated to performing across a wide range of styles and settings, continually expanding her repertoire and gear.

Nola has been an active performer in Utah's music scene for nearly a decade, appearing in prestigious venues such as Abravanel Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Midvalley Performing Arts Center, and the State Opera House in Prague. She performs regularly with String FX, bringing vibrant and engaging music to a wide range of events, and is also a member of the Schrodinger String Quartet. In 2020, she earned 3rd place in the Chamber Music category of the ENKOR International Competition.

Nola received her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance from the University of Utah in 2022, where she studied major works by Bruch, Mendelssohn, Copland, and Mozart. She has participated in numerous masterclasses and festivals, including Bach and Beyond at the University of Utah, and the SoCal Chamber Music Festival, where she performed dynamic tangos, rags, and waltzes with her quartet.

A passionate and versatile performer, Nola blends classical expertise with modern flair. Her performances incorporate elements of pop, rock, and backing tracks, tailored to suit any occasion. Since joining String FX in 2022, she has brought a unique edge to the group, drawing from her presence in the rock and metal scene, including her role as violinist and vocalist in the band Heirs ov the Ancient Throne.

Offstage, Nola enjoys painting, spending time outdoors, and sharing her love of music through teaching. She is dedicated to String FX’s mission of delivering innovative, high-quality live music experiences for weddings and events, and finds joy in bringing people together through the power of music.

Sarah J. Pehrson has been playing the violin since the age of ten and is a graduate of Snow College and is finished her Masters in Music Technology from Southern Utah University in 2023 with an emphasis in performance technology. She has soloed with multiple artists over the years, including; Kansas, Kurt Bestor, Nathan Pacheco, and many others. She currently plays full time for Skyward Symphony (as its founding member, Concertmaster and a member of the Board), New American Philharmonic (where both her parents still play, and have played for 30+ years), and Salt Lake String Quartet. 

Sarah has been arranging and composing for 15 years and wants to share the beauty and love of music with those who love a little bit of a challenge, while still maintaining beauty and passion and purity of music.
